    Default Heads Up Everyone.

Hey just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Anybody ever heard of Vex double pedals? Well I made the horrible mistake of buying one, and let me tell you, it was more that a horrible mistake, I got it, and it was completely defective, 2 of the bearings for the slave pedal are all messed up, the linkage to the slave pedal is bent and the cotter pins keep coming out, the screws all over both pedals already have stripped out or are bent, KEEP IN MIND, this is just me taking it out of the BOX, I have tried numerous times to contact Vex for a replacement, I have not gotten a single email, the customer service from this company is HORRIBLE, NON EXISTANT, I flat out thru away $100, so if you were at all considering buying one from ebay or on there site, PLEASE THINK AGAIN, buy the PDP pedal instead.

If Vex is reading this and would like to make right, my email is ddrumbum@charter.net as you should now

Well, as has been stated so many times in this forum....you absolutely get what you pay for. I have 2 DW pedals, a 5000 I bought in 1989, still in perfect condition, and a 5002 Delta II Series Accelerator I bought in 1997, also in perfect working order.....yeah, they're a little costly, but hey, I spent about $325 for the 5000 pedal I bought in '89 AND I STILL USE IT!!! (on my practice kit)......but good luck with Vex, dude, personally, that's justifiable homicide in my eyes.

That's like laughing at me broken down on the side of the road in my '70 Citreon, while you blow past in your new Ferrari. Cruel, very cruel.

I thought about getting one of those but I got a pearl eliminator instead, I like it a lot, how does the new pedal they sent you work out?

Daemon, yes warranty is priceless, but it is only as good as the company, and at first I really thought this company was just a bunch of scammers, but after about three weeks, finally the communication started, and overall the problem was solved.

drummer1919 my replacement pedal feels everybit as good as the Tama Iron Cobra, I really mean this, infact I would go as far as to say, the Vex feels even better, with endless adjustability, I love it.

    speaking of the DW 5000...
    Which pedals are better?
The higher or lower numbers? cause i can't figure it out.
I really wish that we could actually show the pictures in here...

Amp they ship for free, so you just pay $100, and that is it, nothing else, check it out www.vexdirect.com, you will be amazed how good these pedals are, I would easily compare them to the DW 9000 series, I am just really happy with them, and I have played on DW, Tama, and Yamaha, and this pedal just flat out beats them all.

Daemon the higher the number, the better the quality, and HIGHER the price, seriously you should check out VEX.

well normally the 9000 is the best than the 5000 then the 7000 however a lot of ppl prefer the 5000 to the 9000 because the 9000 is just too hard to understand and customize however i know of just as many ppl who enjoy the 9000 because technically it is the better pedal however for the difference in price between the 5000 and 9000 which is about 100-200 dollars isnt that much so its all between preference. It is hard to understand tho i agree, why is the 7000 less quality than the 5000 who knows? Its a weird system

Play them urself and see what u like then go from there.

However if you're low on a budget there is even a DW 4000 now which runs for about $160

    check the pages for yourself

ya i checked it out earlier and i think thats the direction i will go

but im thinkin it must cost shipping especially if u are shipping to a different country other than the US

like for the US its free, just like musicians friend, music123, amazon

but for canada and other countries they must charge shipping and i have no way to figure this out without entering my parents credit card number into the checkout form on the site.

Like Vex couldnt possibly ship to like Rwanda, or across the world for free from the US it just doenst add up

AMP, yea I just checked there site and they are not shipping internationally yet, that sucks, cause these are great pedals, I almost garentee you would like them better than the DW 5000, I sure do, BUT everyone has there own preference, I just hate to see someone waste that kind of money on a pedal, when you can get at least equal quality with Vex for a fraction of the other price.

    really they arent shipping internationally

cuz i just put my card info in there and i had the forum all drawn up to purchase it and send it to canada all i had to press was pay

and it still only said 99.99 USD so im thinking they are shipping outside the US

you might wanna check again cuz im pretty sure i can buy one

and if i can the moment i have the money im doing it

My dream is to get rid of my double pedal...

And then two replace it with two single pedals and get another bass drum!

    That'd be way better

I've got a DW 7002 and a Mapex P750A (single) that came with my kit and i still love that pedal, I'm so used to it. I'd sell my children before I sold that pedal, so it's a good thing I'm 15 and have a few years to get over that feeling.

OK, here's the lowdown on DW pedals (in order of price and quality, lowest to highest)....4000, 7000, 5000, 9000....DW had been making the 5000 series pedals forever, along with 5000 series hardware, then they started making 9000 series hardware....they introduced the 7000 series pedals and hardware as a lower-priced alternative, then just recently started making the 9000 series pedals.
