Default Double pedal, what should I go for?

    Hey everyone,

I finally found a job and I'm looking at getting back into double pedal. I want get a really solid pedal, No cheap stuff this time around! What do you guys suggest?

I've been looking at the Iron Cobras and Pearl Elims.

Any others? I'm looking for a really smooth and strong pedal. The band is starting to get more complex riffs and I feel I need to branch out with my foot work.

    Thanks,

    Fred

I saw a really nice pedal on trickdrums.com
I believe they are called the Dominators... a state of the art looking double pedal. I have never played this pedal but it looks really nice.
    Check em out!!

I have a DW 5000 chain drive double pedal. Works great.

Like most people would probably say, go out to your nearest store and try as many as you can. Go with the one that feels most comfortable.

    But I would say IC's.

all good suggestions posted above. just don't get anything cheap looking. axis pedals are nice, and have very different ways of adjusting. iron cobras have been around forever and i feel that they have had enough time to perfect this pedal, you cant lose with an IC. DW makes nice pedals and have alot of different models to chose from, you will be happy with anything 5000 and higher. pearl elims seem to be very popular with everyone and they always have alot to sell at the music stores it seems like. gibraltar also makes good double pedals that are very durable and their quality of metal is right up there with the best.

all of these pedals are up your alley and worth a shot. i perfer the DW 7000 and iron cobras.

what do you think IC stands for?lol. Im just messing with you.
Anyway as far as pedals the one good thing about the IC is how adjustable it is. But a lot of the higher end pedals also have many adjustment settings such as the DWs and Axis and Trick. Obviously nothing beats going to a store and testing them but also remember that in a store it could be hard to get the pedal adjusted the way you want it. One last thing I would say is dont over look the Pearl P-122tw powershifter. I own this pedal and bought it brand new for 150. But it is a great pedal and also has many adjustment setting such as spring tension, beater angle, and of course the powershift adjustment which is moving the pedal up and down the footboard to adjust the feel of the pedal and footboard angle. Oh and dont forget that Gibralter also makes a direct drive, that is a little cheaper then the Axis or Trick.

any of the pro level pedals will work well. you need to try them out and see what you like. I personally love DW pedals, the 7000, 5000 and 9000s are all amazing. I also play on a friends kit for rehearsals for one of my bands and it has an Iron Cobra on it. Great pedal.

    Just try them out
