What makes you love the drums?
I quit for awhile to go to a melodious instrument. Problem is, I still miss that but what keeps me going is how much fun I have simply doing it (which is unlike any other instrument), how I lead the band (I am like the conductor), and, well, no other reasons. What makes you love them?

Because it's fun...lol. I love it when I spend grueling hours tuning my kit, and then hearing how great it sounds when I'm done (not to brag or anything).

Drumming came naturally to me as a child. Therefore, I love them because I know how to play them. Most people gravitate towards, and enjoy doing things they are good at. I could also play the oboe, draw and paint. Drumming was more fun. The artsy kids were boring and no one in AC/DC played an oboe.
A good drummer will sound good on anything(even stock drum heads). A bad drummer will sound bad on anything.

Primal connection on a subconscious level. As basic as hunger, sexual drive, fight or flight. I love that feeling of sitting in a pocket with a good bass player.

I always loved the sound of the drums in a song. It was the beat of the drums that made me want to get up and dance, or just to groove with the sound of the song. When I got the chance, I just knew I had to do it.

Nice to be back. Just wrapping up a basement remodel job on my home and raising a 3 year old. Couldn't believe my last login time! Nice to see some old friendly faces here.
