Wow. I didn't realize it was physically possible to do all that with one hand. What a good solo.
Zack...This is a Major Part of our Drumming history. Thanks for sharing it with us.
BTW, if you have not seen it, I know that you will love to have a copy of Steve Smith's Legacy DVD: Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants. It is History of the greats before us and will not be wasted on you. John Riley's interviews with Steve in this are timely and to the point...go for it!!
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.

You bet man! I just checked out that DVD. Five hours! Wow, I think it may be the next D.V.D. I pick up.
Awesome! He is at one with his kit for sure, some drummers just play, but this guy is the kit for sure.
Papa Jo Jones is one of my favorite drummers for sure. This clip demonstrates how you can create a simply melody and develop it with such forceful energy. He has this ability to keep you glued to what he's doing - such amazing talent. He was one of Buddy's big influences too and you can see why. Great drummer indeed.
Tom
i cant say anything that hasn't been said. He, personally is coming through on the drumset. At the end of the day that's what were all trying to do, I think... i love this video
