drummer.. I'm not sure what cross-sticking is, but I know that a rimshot is when you hit the drum and the rim at the same time. (it sounds real cool on a marching snare)

cross sticking is when you hold the stick down against the drum at the middle, and then hit the rim in a drop and raise kind of motion

Sorry should have explained. It is converted to electric has 5 triggers in it to pick up rim shots,cross stick and positional as a high end roland,hart or yamaha pad will do.
