Thanks man. But the DWs are pretty close to your set up now, without the second floor tom anyways. The Pearls are too big for some places too!

I can imagine, must be a pain moving all that! On the flipside, they look really cool on stage.

I'm on the prowl for a 2nd kit, hopefully vintage, but maybe something else if I can find a steal. If I don't get anything, there's a 14" Granstar in white wrap (mine are lacquered but close enough) that matches my kit. Might grab that, use it as a hanging FT and go 1 up 2 down as a 5 pc. That would be a cool change of pace.

I might pull the trigger on it, since finding a "deal" on a vintage kit takes time. Some possibilities, but nothing stellar yet. At $90 for the tom it's not a big risk. I could just hang my 13", but I figured having the even spacing was probably better.

Ooh, fun...

I got to open up for 38 Special at our city's yearly festival. Yamaha Maple Custom Absolutes with a DW Craviotto snare isn't bad for a rental kit.
The 38 guy's kit is behind me. Pearl Master's something or other. They were sound checking while I was setting up. They sounded round and huge through the PA.

This kit was fun while I had it. Yamaha Recording Customs 4 piece with 2 timbales.

City fest last year...

...and in 2007. We opened for the John Popper Project. (John is the singer/harmonica player from Blues Traveler). My singer knows him somehow and he agreed to sing "Runaround" with us. That was great fun.

Probably the only good pic from Saturday's show. How do I tell the bassist that his camera is pretty lousy and his wife isn't that great a photographer????? I just said we need a better low-light camera!!!!
