So people say Myspace is dead even though i still use it almost daily.

Facebook gets more annoying by the day, between Quizzes, Mafia, pirate and vampire wars, people sending constant requests for adding this or that. I hate even logging in, not to mention it's also the most non user friendly site for bands. you have to link your band site to a personal profile and then try and navigate your way back to your band page, I just hate it.

So what else is there? something with myspace simplicity, FB instant communication ability and non of the stupid apps. Where can you simply promote your band and your shows in a place that will be seen by your target audience?

there has to be something....perhaps I'll just use some of my server space and register a domain name for a band website, but then again, it's about how to get the message out there.

has anyone found a good solution?

Try ReverbNation.com - I think it's great. Mainly if you have music to upload...

Check out www.reverbnation.com/theloveblisters for our layout and PM me if you have questions...

I've heard good things about reverb nation, but haven't checked it out yet.

Same. Currently we are on MySpace, Facebook, Purevolume, I run an actual website, we also have our YouTube channel.

And I would say that I like each of those sites for something, but none of them for everything.

Actually, FaceBook has been pretty good to get our friends/fans to our gigs. Make sure your fan page is selected as accesible to all in your prefs.

As far as all those annoying apps- you can hide them all withthe 'hide' feature to the right of each posting. THe first time an app appears, choose 'hide' and it's gone for good.

Soundclick is another site if you post original stuff.

I don't think they will allow copy righted material on the site.
