Re: Are you a pirate?
Most of the big name music software companies have watered down versions of their pro level software that you can get at a price that is much more economical, and in some cases easier to use because they aren't loaded with features the novice will never use. Most of them also have free demo versions available for download to try out so you don't have to invest in their software blindly. These demo versions are usually set up so you can't save large files or have other restriction, but they can be used to try it before you buy it. I've been using CakeWalk Home Studio for years and have never felt the need of desire to go beyond that. If you can't afford the full blown software you can normally find a cheaper alternative you can afford. Pirating software keeps the prices higher for those who are honest enough to pay for it, and deprives the programmers, and other workers involved in the manufacture of these products of income. Ask yourself if you can't afford the pro level music software, do you really need the pro level software or will and cheaper less expensive alternative work just as well.
