    Default hand carved vs. line carved

    Can someone do some explaining please . I can figure out what hand-carved means , but what is line-carved?

    I've never heard the term before, but I'm guessing it means its made in an assembly line of some sort, in other words mass produced.

    I was thinking it was possibly turned on a lathe ? Some one here will know for sure , I have complete faith .

    After researching a bit, I'm fairly certain that "line carved" is refering to the intricate designs carved into the drum, and has nothing to do with the actual construction of the drum.

    Hand-Carved and Line-Carved are the same thing (if the lines are carved by hand):

    A hand carved Djembe for instance that has "lines" carved into it by hand is a hand-carved line-carved drum.

    Line-carved referrs to the lines carved into the drum.
