Ok, new game. Post a link or type in quotes an example of just how bad some of us spell. Bad sentax and punctuation are also exceptable. There's a super fabulous prize for the Drummie who comes up with the most examples.

And I'm pretty sure it's pay rise Metal Drummer. It's "I got a raise" or "I got a pay rise", not "I got a pay raise".

    Cool Spelling Nazis

How ironic that the title of this thread has a spelling error!

    "Spelling Nazi's"...I don't think so!

And, BTW, "'bro" with the apostrophe in front of the "b" is a short from of my member name, as in "keep the beat goin' ...'bro". Oops, that should be Keep the beat going!"

"Bro'" with the apostrophe in back of the "o" is a short form of "brother," which is according to the book From Abba to Zoom, is defined as "what a dude calls his friend."

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna ...going to... do some serious drummin' ...drumming!... Later ...see you later!!!

keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

My day job is as an ... editor. After a while you just have to switch off to a lot of this stuff and ignore it. It's natural that people want to use quick communication.

But sometimes it gets to me.

I still use proper spelling and punctuation when I send text messages. This probably makes me some sort of freak.

    Cool Spelling Nazis

Jobby, I'm the webmaster for our radio station's website, so I'm a stickler for pronunciation and spelling during the day...

but when I'm hangin' around the forums, I kick back a little bit...so a few "g's" get dropped, a few "aint's" get thrown in now and then, and I throw in a little slang here and there...

it's like the difference between playing tympani in the symphony and jammin' on the bongos and congas with a jazz group...both require some structure and discipline, but one is much more laid-back than the other...and I guess the jammer comes out after a few posts...
