    Default Casual soloing and grooves

Hello all, new here to the forums, so good day to all.

Here's a start to my video collection, recorded with a Flip HD Ultra (no other microphones) though I plan on micing my drums with the shure sm57s in the future, the flip is just easier and spontaneous.

have a listen and let me know what you think.

    Casually for 8 years.

I do it on my spare time, but have a full time career, wife, a first time home owner and other craziness so I get to play less and less... but I hope my vids are still okay. I just recorded them once, not trying too hard to make them perfect... I don't think it's worth playing other peoples songs perfectly because I'm a natural do-it-my-own-way kinda guy.

My influences are broad. I love metal (symphony x, turisas, iron maiden, between the buried, protest the hero), prog (rush, dream theater), classic (zeppelin, floyd, acdc), jazz (buddy rich, dave weckl) and others.

So, with that said, I hope you like it and maybe you can see where my meshed style comes from (if I have a style :P)

OK , heres my thoughts after watching all of them . I like your solo vids the best , you seem to be a lot more comfortable when youre playing . On the covers you seemed to be a bit tense and holding back.....just my opinion but I did like all the vids .

Another thing I noticed too was your small tom has a black reso head .........I think that really shows off the natural finish of your set really well , you may want to do your other toms to match that one and the BD .

Both the drums and cymbals sound real good on all the vids . I like the tone and there wasnt a lot of ringing from the cymbals ......and you got some good chops ,keep doing what youre doing .

I know how you feel bro. Most of the time I only get to practice when we have band stuff going on...almost never on my own these days!

I agree, and I replace them on a has needed basis, so, it may be awhile... the only reason I got the black one initially was because that were out of the white ones... good luck, I guess
