Hi, I have a big shed and I'm planning on soundproofing it. I was just wondering (to those of you who have worked with soundproofing) what materials are best to use to make my shed sound proof.

Hey man, good luck with the project, i hope all goes well with the project! The best thing you can do is build a room literally inside a room. But i will point you to green glue. Google it and go to their website, the supply awesome diagrams and tons of info on different materials. It breaks down what frequencies get through at what dcb's it's an awesome data base for sound proofing. If you want to go all out green glue is pretty sweet, it turns sound energy into heat. Very cool. Keep us posted with your endeavor also, if you search sound proofing in the search box on DC, believe me, you'll get LOT'S of results. ha ha!

im in the same exact position. what condition is the shed, and what is in there besides your drums? getting it cleared out is a huge first step. the standard stuff to use for music studios is Auralex, but theres a number of other effective materials you can use

might check out audimute blankets; but before that you might consider sheetrock on the walls cause of how inexpensive it is

i was the same postion as you about 2 years ago. huge shed, needed soundproofing. if you can get it, theres this stuff that comes in white sheets and will completly sound proof any room. not sure what its called. something like sounproof strips, and it can be expensive but definetly worth it.
or just just hang a bunch of old carpets in the walls.
