nice and simple.
My past photo bucket pic's are gone so I thought I'd put them back up in one place. Here are my 4 favorite kits I' had over the past 13 years.

My new Slingerland Concert King kit. Just had them a week, and they haven't even been played, yet.

Now what! Matching drumsticks? Now that I'm retired I got time to do stupid things like this! lol.DSC01830.jpg

Thank you, Olimpass. Just for grins, here's a shot from the front.

Very nice
Very interesting kit. Looks like a very well made import...much like the PDP Concepts or Catalina Maples...but in traditional sizes (12,13,16,22) which you almost never see anymore. Most new kits are fusion (10,12,16,22). Nice finish, and the hardware looks solid. Any idea if it’s American or Asian Maple?

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Beautiful drums!

Great kit! Hope you got some good cases for those! lol.
Thanks so much, guys. These are the Slingerland import kits that I talked about in the recent Conway Slingerland thread. You can be sure that if i had the cash I would have bought one of the USA kits, but thus far I'm very impressed with these. Haven't even played them, yet, because I have all new heads ordered for them, so I'll wait till they have some quality plastic screwed down before hearing them.
These shells are a five ply maple/mahogany/maple/mahogany/maple configuration, so they should present a fairly warm sound, even with double 45 degree bearing edges. I don't know the wood origins, but I'll bet they are Asian. And yes, I'd place these smack dab in the middle of the PDP/Catalina/Stage Custom/etc range of kits. Except that with these kits, your $1000 gets you hardware that is quite useable.
And yes, drummerMD, I have a full set of SKB hard cases for traveling with these.
It's going to be an adjustment for me going back to the traditional 12/13/16 sizes, which I haven't played in many, many years. (I'm scheduled to pick up an extra floor tom for the kit later this week.) I'll be keeping my 6 piece Pacific CX Maple kit, so I'll have my choice between sizes. This will be the first time in over fifty years of playing the drums that I've had more than one kit at a time. And I have ZERO room for them. Western world problem, eh?
