Hey Zoltan welcome to drumchat ! Are you using the felt side of your bass drum beater ?
I just bought the 8" Pintech bass drum trigger hoping that it will be quieter than my old Yamaha KP-65. It isn't the case though. I think it's the foam padding inside since my other Pintech triggers/heads are quiet enough.
Any ideas?
Is it possible to carve away some of the foam to reduce direct contact with the beater and the head without messing up the triggering?
Or is it possible to replace the solid block of foam with a cone or triangle shaped foam?
Thanks!

Yeah, the beaters are felt only.
More info:
The foam feels hard, the pad has a totally different feel than a regular
mesh head snare/tom trigger. It feels more like a rubber pad.

Yeah, it's mesh head, that's why I bought it.
the quietest pads I have used are my DIY 22" bass drum with a hart mesh head. I think the bigger the head the smaller the hit sound will be. What size is the pad ?

It's 8". The mesh head should be ok, the 10" tom pads are very quiet. I'll probably replace the foam filling with a Roland-type cone. Just wondering
if that's a safe thing to do since the bass drum has to withstand heavier hits
than the toms.
id put mesh heads on a real drumset and tape some inexpensive slap on triggers to it. but its surprising, i usually cant get the volume on my triggers to get high enough to mix good with real cymbals

Russ, I'd get a real drumset and trigger it if I had enough room for it, that's for sure.
Anyway, I fixed the trigger noise. I removed the original foam (which filled the whole shell) and cut a smaller piece so that the beaters only contact the mesh head and not the foam. It's much quieter now.
