what do you guys think of the Zildjian ZHT's? how about the ZXT's? I was planning on getting new crash cymbals and I'm gonna get one of these two (on a serious budget...) which one is better?

feel the same as i do about zbt. bad sounding stamped out pieces of poo poo.
hit the ebay or pawn shops and find some quality used cymbals. the plain old A series are much more durable and musical than the zbt, zht or zxt. you might also want to check out stagg cymbals.

If you're really going to buy new, go with the ZXT. They're the top of the line in that affordable series. However, I don't really recommend them. They're a bit too thin for my liking. They sound ok, just not the best.

I'd take funky's advice and look for some second-hand better quality cymbals.

Ah, well the AAX is a good line, stick with it, its not that pricey, but since you were going after ZHT me, and im sure everyone else thought you were on a SERIOUS budget

i also have found that the Wuhan S series crashes are pretty decent and very inexpensive (around $180 for a 16 and 18inch crash or less). I will warn however the ride sounds horrible very washy and not pingy, but its too thick for a nice sounding wash (like the Zildjian sweet ride) and too thin for a good ping. So i'd veer clear of thier ride cymbal. I have no input on the hats, have never heard them, but i still use the crashes along with a couple Sabian AAXs
