Hi I live in Quadeville, Ontario. North of Bancroft and West of Renfrew. Play Pearl MCX like in my Avatar. I am retired and enjoying nature and drumming. Protect your ears cause I lost 50% of mine but not just from drumming but from loud noises associated with snowmobiles, chainsaws, dirt bikes etc. My name is Gilles

Bonjour you might want to contact Rioule cause he is in the same city as you. Is this the Saint-Jean where the Canadian Force Base is. If it is I was there for boot camp back in 69 and was impressed with the people and area. Je suis francais moi aussi mais je parle pas trop souvent la langue parce que je vis parmi des Anglais. Adieu et parle avec Riouel.
I am in Caesarea, but grew up in St. Catharines. Strider, that area has always been its own little cult. I used to play 6-7 nights a week and never drive more than half an hour, and not many outside bands came in except for a couple road band bars. My haunt The welland House, which regularly brought in FM, (Marty Deller, legend drummer) Frank Soda, The Kings, etc. and in the Falls there was Uncle Sams, which catered more towards the metal gods of the hair nation. I was fortunate enough to play both places before they became a place of history.
Northern redneck, I am playing london racetrack in two weekends from now, May 28th, I will find out if it is private or open. I used to play Eastside, (JR's) all the time, with Outrider, Billy Kid and currently Radio King.

Actually at Ody's in the Quality Inn right by the highway.
I guess we are on the casino floor. It will be more of a "Lenny and the lounge lizards" type of gig. Small PA, blend in with the bing bing bing of the slot machines. I hate casino gigs, unless we get put into a separate room, but does not seem to be on this one. Well if you are around, drop by and say hi!

Hi guys I'm in eastern Ontario. I'm picking up sticks way past middle age and really liking it. I practice daily - learning rudiments right now and it's a blast.

Never too late in life to do anything. I am constantly picking up new obsessions. I start new hobbies, get totally immersed and do about 6 months to a year focusing on it, and then switch gears to something else. I probably have a psycological condition where I feel like I have to master as many things as possible while here on earth.

Aye man same position here past middle age ( 60 ) I played drum when I was a teenager then stopped for like 35 years then picked it up again when I retired and basically had to start all over again. I retired 2002 ( 50) and I have relearned alot in 10 years. I do not play in a band I am basically solo with the odd jam with friends and I like it that way. Keep on drumming
^Me too.. I much prefer to work alone. Or maybe I always tend to have creative differences with bands haha. Ideally i'd like to lay down some drum parts for an artist, without ever meeting or having them there. They could send me their demo, and i'll record something and send it to their email. Dream job.

The Rudiments
I hear you Russ. This way you don't have to deal with the BS that is involved with other band members. Less stress and more relaxed playing alone you don't have to prove anything to anyone but yourself. If you want a reaction from a non audiance do like me set up a mirror and watch yourself play then you can criticize without hurting your feelings.LOL it works to watch yourself at work.
Happy Canada Day

It is funny you say that, I have read posts from studio guys, and this is getting to be the normal way of the studio drummer nowadays, because of all the computer technology. The guys have a drum recording set up at home, the tracks are sent over, he does his magic and sends them back.
Hey Redneck, we are at the London Casino this Saturday, I doubt my stave shells will be back together in time, clear coat is going on right now, but any request for snare drums I own that you want to see/hear?

Will probably bring my two bronze snares and the two wood hoop ones, loudest (bronze)and quietest (full wood). We are going in without our big rig, so probably just mic the kick.
