Any other Drum Chatters live in the Bay Area? I'm in Santa Clara (basically in San Jose though...like right on the border).

San Jose Pro Drum has many great drum teachers, including

    Jimmy DeGrasso
    Joe DeRose
    Jason Wall
    Wally Schnalle

    Just throwing that out there.

And now Kevin Higuchi as well (my drum teacher). He used to teach out of Lemmon Percussion before they closed down but now he's at SJ Pro Drum.

You might be thinking of Lemmon Percussion. I'm pretty sure SJ Pro Drum is still around.

my wife is from Hillsborough and wants to move back to the SF area in the next 5 years. I'll be looking for a band when that happens...
We'd probably move north of SF though, somewhere in between SF and Petaluma

    Nope ,it's dead.
Went by one day and it was cleaned out.
I hear DeGrasso didn't need the hassle ,so they closed it down.

You might be thinking CA Percussion as he still does mail order and rentals, just no more storefront.

Fremont here. It's an utter wasteland as far as the music scene goes.

Born in SF grew up in Sacramento. Any of you guys remember The Stone in San Francisco off Broadway?. I played there once in 92 or 93. Opened for a band named Asphalt Ballet. Anyway visited my brother last summer and on the way home had a little layover and went in the city. Everything looks the same Big Al's, the Condor, etc.

The Stone has been closed for years but it was fun to see it again. It's a strip club now I think. Seems like they all turn into one of those when they close down. Same thing with Shire Road Pub in Sacramento. Played there a few times and it's now a strip club or was. Sad they're all gone.

Played the Keystone circuit in the 80's when they were still all open.
Monday nights were a b!tch when it came to pay for play.

Interesting poster I saw the other day is that it looks like the old Leo's music building is now a night club.

nice! I didn't get to Oakland too much just the Collesium a few times. Scary place sometimes. I was in Sacramento by the time I was old enough to get in the clubs so I don't know all the names.

Got any pics of the fibes?
