veinticuatro por dieciséis
I prefer it because it can be tuned to sound like Bonhams 26x14 or tight and punchy like a 22". In it's standard state, tons of punch and plenty of depth. It's a good ratio for both quick response and low end.

My Dw kick is a 18x22.
My Rogers and Yamaha are 22x14.
I also have two 20x14 Rogers basses.
My favorite is definitely the 22x14 Rogers. It just has this massive focused sound to it. They are all great drums though.

I like those solid hoops on that, it looks good. Finding a knobby cap isnt the easierst thing in the world to do, you might be better off just buying a single knobby mount and swiping the cap. Same for the collet tensioner. I am guessing your durm is tagged dayton?

Thanks! I only got one of the original hoops with the drum so I bought those two hoops unfinished and stained and polyurethaned them myself. The drum is a Dayton, a '67 I believe. There are some nasty holes under that knob mount where someone must have added a tom mount at some point. You can see the factory holes for the knob mount to the right of where it is now. It's a players drum through. I use it every week at a gig we do with a small stage. It works perfect. I don't plan on restoring it any further I'm very happy with it right now. But I picked up this shell at a local music store for $50 a few months ago. Totally virgin 20x14. Also Dayton era. All the lugs are there, wrap and seems are tight. Just needs some hoops, heads, claws, tension rods, and some tlc.
22x18 pow!
My old (now A to E kit) has a 20"*16" shell, my current PDP Kick drum is a 24"*18" (diameter*depth)

IDK man, that 20x14 Rogers I posted before has both the sound and feel of a much larger drum. When I first started gigging with it my fellow band mates couldn't believe how big of a sound it has. It projects better than any 22" I've ever played. And it's super easy to transport.
