Default Paiste Giant Beat or 2002 18" Crash?

I'm thinking about getting one of these cymbals. They are both around the same price, however I just cant choose which one I want. What are your thoughts? I just wanted to ask other drummers their opinions first, thanks.

I would say 2002. But it's up to you...whichever sounds best to you.

I have a 24 inch Giant Beat ride. I love the thing so much I might refer to it as my third child.

Seriously, you'll have to decide what vibe works best. If you go to the Paiste site, you can check out the sound samples. IMO the 18 GB sounds very similar to the 18 2002 THIN (not regular). But I think you get a little more ride capability out of the GB vs a 2002. So you have that to think about as well...

I agree tho that you really can't go wrong...

I like the sound of the more ride capability from the GB. I'm not a huge high hat user, so a Crash with that sounds great.

listened to some sound samples, and it sounded like the 2002 was a bit louder but the Giant Beat was darker sounding
