AC/DC songs are good for beginners to learn.
I have just started teaching someone some drum lessons, and they are moving along pretty quickly and understand noting and all of that. It is about time to start teaching them a song or two, and I was wondering, what are some good beginner songs that I can teach them?? Thanks
being a succesful musician has nothing to do with being signed, popular or making alot of money. It has to do with making great music.

AC/DC for sure. Specifically, Highway to Hell.

yep agreed with above... the first song i ever learnt was Holiday by Greenday. It has a triplet feel and it is good way to get introduced to triplet feel as well.
CCR is also good for beginners. Showing my age here...

anything by the strokes. when i first started i played a lot of their songs. now im on lamb of god
I would recommend starting with old Beatles songs. Ringo keeps it simple and the melody lines are very catchy. They are very open songs with not a lot of kicks and easy to put fills anywhere. Good luck !
"Wild Thing" by Ton Loc. That was my first song. And it was new at the time.

Tom Petty songs are usually pretty straight ahead rock beats, I want to say thats who I started with, but it was 15 years ago, so I forget.
