I've been listening to this album a lot lately: The Defenitive Ken Burns Jazz - Herbie Hancoc k. I guess you would call it a greatest hits album, so there are several different drummers on the album.
Jack DeJohnette on "You've Got It Bad Girl" is absolutely phenomenal. The song was originally recorded on the album "The New Standard".

Sean Kinney- Jar of Flies
And also, Pearl Jam's Ten had David Krusen on drums, not Jack Irons. Jack jammed with them and was the one who passed the demo to Eddie before he joined the band, but did not appear on a complete PJ album until No Code. Jack is actually my least favorite drummer that Pearl Jam had. He lacked the energy of the other players imo. I also think the firing of Dave Abbruzzese was the biggest mistake they ever made. He was a monster on the kit, and they never got back that fire.

very cool subject, I'm having a huge brain fart because i can't remember Breaking Benjamin's drummer's name. But i love his style in their recordings i also like Lester Estelle Jr. from pillar in where do we go from here album. Basic but sooooo tasteful!
It's outside of what he normally does and he ended up really holding back, but Billy Cobham's drumming on the album "Blue Light Rain" but Jazz is Dead is still some of my favorite drumming ever.

I see we agree on two specific choices with Grohl and Chamberlin! And Dom's drumming on Absolution is so solid...

I just listened to Helmet's Meantime last week for the first time in a long time. The drumming is just what the doctor ordered for those songs. I can't recall the drummer's name at the moment though.
EDIT: I know recall that it was John Stanier playing on that album.
