Ginger Baker, anything he played, Daniel Adair with Martone
So...how many times have we talked about great drummers but not also been able to associate them with recordings that have made a very significant, far-reaching musical impact? I'm talking music vs. drumming technique.
I thought it might be interesting to list great drummers that we also associate with great ALBUMS. For example:
Neil Peart - Moving Pictures
Bonham - Led Zeppelin 4 (or other)
Elvin Jones - A Love Supreme
I know this is all subjective, so use your own criteria and post a handful of your faves. Justify your choices if you want. Hopefully I was clear enough in describing the scenario. Have fun and feel free to disagree!
