hmm, all i know is wuhan owns dream cymbals so their name should come up at some point. wuhan chinas seem pretty sweet and i haven't heard chinas from a lot of companies to be a total skeptic, but they seem very good to me.

I have an 18" and 20" Wuhan China!!! I love them both!
Life, like drumming, is only as good as you make it.
Pros: Nicely priced and if you find the right ones sound great for the cash.
Cons: Quality control is all over the place. Never heard two sound alike. You really have to dig to find the right sound you are going for.

I have an 18" Wuhan China, and I really like it as an accent in the right places. It's got a great gongy sound. RHD is right though, you do have to dig to get the right sound, because these cymbals are hand made, and no 2 cymbals sound alike. I would never buy a Wuhan cymbal without hearing it first, now that I know how widely the sound can vary. Having said that, I got my Wuhan China before I knew any better, and bought it online. I got very lucky!

Very true RHD. I went into a local store looking for a 18" Wuhan china and tried every single one they had in 18"...didn't like either one of them...all sounded different. So I tried the 17's...nope...16's...nope. Ended up walking out with a 14" that was exactly the sound I was hoping for. But compared to the other 14's this one had a longer sustain and sounded like a larger diameter cymbal. I also have 8" and 10" S series splashes and I absolutely love them. Quick, glassy and transparent. But the selection process for those went like my china search.
So I wouldn't quite call it a 'con' that they all sound different. It just adds to the uniqueness that is Wuhan. If you own one you know that it probably truly is a unique instrument!

I bought a 22" Wuhan China, thinking bigger is better. That thing was a monster! You had to really hit it to get a decent sound out, and then it was LOUD!!!
Luckily, I put an ad in a local forum offering a trade. A local metal drummer did a straight trade for a 16" Wuhan that I now absolutely love. It is mellow/ trashy-sounding, but doesn't take a full nelson to get vibrating. The metal guy is happy, because his band plays a dozen or so decibels above where I play.
I have a little Wuhan 12", but I was the only one who liked how it sounded, so it is not on my kit anymore. (Plus, I was trying to pair down my number of cymbals.)
And the trees are all kept equal by hatchet, axe, and saw. . .

tbh i hate wuhan cymbals :S
my 16" thin crash cracked at band practice today, ive only had it for a year and month
I've pricing new hi-hats and I love the sound of the Zildijan K series lite hats, the problem
is I dont love the price of $400. A guy at a small music store in town told me to check out Wuhan hi-hats. He said they sound great for 1/2 the cost. I'm looking for a lite crisp sound. Can anyone give me any info. as far as how good Wuhan hi-hats sound, thanks.
The Wuhan HH cymbals are a lot less then half the price of K HH cymbals.
There's a guy on E-bay that has a bunch of videos demonstrating the Wuhans.
I can't speak for the these cymbals though.
If you're looking for a good HH set for half the price of the K's the Dream cymbals seem to get pretty good reviews.
i love my wuhan 18 inch china. its the trashies most awsome thing ever. ill get more when i get working again haha
Man. At the price these things go for I'm tempted to get two.
True that! the price is the final straw for me. But I'm cheap. I do like the sound of the wuhans that Ive found very crisp and fast. I have yet to hear a pair of hats though. But for under a $100 how can it be worse than low end anything else?
I have a 16" and buyin' an 18" for the other side of my kit. down the road I might get like a Paragon china, but for now the trash and clatter of 'em is JUST what I want!
i dont mind the wuhan range at all got a 16 thin crash 12 splash and 12 china love em all heres a pic, theye about 2yrs and still nothing happening
Hey guys, should I buy a 16" Wuhan Crash or an 18" Wuhan China? I sold the Paiste NuVader China I bought for $25 for $50 on craigslist (yippee) and now I have $50 to spend on a new cymbal. I need other people's opinions because from what i have seen on youtube, and from reading reviews, both sound really good, and I can't decide for myself. Any suggestions?
So itchie, how did the kick sound?

jordison, do you have a music store near you that sells the Wuhan Chinas? If not, buying them online would be a shot in the dark, because each cymbal can be so different. They each have their own individual sound. In general, the 18" would have a deeper sound than the 16". I say my 18" China has a gong-like sound.
