Just heard this on Tom Petty's Buried treasure, would be fun to cover some day.

I love albums. This is my top ten list of live albums that I grew up with. In no special order
1. Unleashed In The East - Judas Priest
2. If You Want Blood - AC/DC
3. Song Remains The Same - Led Zeppelin
4. Foghat Live - Foghat
5. Speak Of The Devil - Ozzy Osbourne
6. Double Live Gonzo - Ted Nugent
7. Captured - Journey
8. World Wide Live -Scorpions
9. One For The Road- The Kinks
10. Exit Stage Left - Rush
yes there were many great live albums made over the years and I know I left out some great ones like Bob Seger and TSBB Nine Tonight , but the ones I listed were the ones I listened to the most and just always sounded good. I have other live albums from other bands like Dokken but the "live" performance just didn't come through very well on their Beast From The East recording, for me that is.
Also I know there were albums that were basically live recordings in the studio but I'm keeping my list to records that had the audience in the recordings.

Chinatown....Thin Lizzy.
David + David - "Boomtown" (1986)
One of the most criminally under-rated albums of all time:

King Crimson - "Lament" (1974)

Don't laugh
Billy Joel - "All for Leyna" (1980)
This album is amazingly produced. One of my all time favourite "audiophile" LPs to spin on the Technics deck.
Buffalo Springfield - Pretty Girl Why
I like the Limelight too! good choice,, umm how about Message in the bottle..
I had a lot of time to think it over lying in this hospital bed...
I monkeyed with another monkey's monkey
And her gorilla whupped upon my head!~Johnny Paycheck
Isn't this Hugh Hefner in the vid, in audience left, about 18 seconds in?
Sure does look like him! If not , I bet he told every girl in the place he was Hefner.
Eddie was a staple in a lot of my listening soundtracks growing up. Just read the news about him... sucks.. wishing him well.

Oh man I wish him well. From what I read, the cancer has spread to other parts of his body.
This is saddening news. I wish him well also.
