Hey guys, I'm putting together an e-kit on the cheap. I have a few pd-8 pads, and an Alesis D4 module. I haven't used the module in years, and once I hooked it back up a few days ago, I heard how extremely outdated it sounds. Any recommendations for decent modules out there? I'll be using it for mostly rehearsing, and occasionally as a supplement to my live kit on gigs. I have seen a few Yamaha DTX III modules in the $300-$350 range. Is there anything out there you would recommend on the $200 or so range? Thanks!!

i got my roland td-7 for around 200(real happy with it), but i'd much rather have an alesis dm5 for the number of inputs and customizability it offers. nothing wrong with yamaha's sounds, it's just i need more inputs for all my drums and cymbals and i have more than they provide.

Do you think a TD-3 for $160 is worth it? Especially since I already have an Alesis D4.

    Yes. That's a good price for a TD-3.

I had a TD-7 for years. Had to be the most user un-friendly device on the planet.

The TD-3 is easy to use and has a good sound library.
