Depends a lot on what im playing. For rock metal etc i tend to use matched grip but the exact grip i use varies depending what sound i need off of my cymbals. When playing jazz its traditional grip all the way. I like how much easier it is to keep the snare quiet.
I really wish that we could actually show the pictures in here...

i can only do rudiments with the trad grip but i prefer the power of a matched grip. i used to play with my arms for power but within the last two years started using my wrists if that has anything to do with anything...

In most cases I'll hold my right hand matched, and my left hand slightly tilted up, thumb up that is; french timpani method I believe its called.

when i'm playing the hat my right thumb is on the stick in sort of a fist type style. it's a lot easier. But when i ain't playing the old hi hat it's always match grip.

Cool How you hold your sticks

I learned the rudiments with traditional grips, but lately I've been playing matched grips...like mcf said, I get more action out of the wrists...
