I think that's how. Some metal drummers astound me with their talent and musicianship e.g. Chris Adler. Yes, I'm a big LoG fan, but Adler incorporates so much into his drumming and always tries to do things a little differently to most drummers.

i agree, the really famous ones are inspirational anyway. Im gettin real sick of these Head bangers Ball metal bands that play the same exact double bass pattern over and over again. In the end those mtv metal bands all sound the same to some extent in all fields of musical playing

Are you kidding me? Korn and Rage Against The Machine doom metal? Both bands play somewhat heavy and Zach from Rage definetly had some attitude, but they are definetly NOT doom metal.

yeah i know what doom metal is, but i never knew they considered korn to be doom metal. Sounds a little strange to me that they say korn and rage against the machine is doom metal since they aren't and all. Isn't doom metal heavy, slow and kind of mellow. Rage against the machine are not slow or mellow, and most of the time korn isn't either

Doom Metal is really mellow, with focus on the deep, brooding lyrics. Korn and Rage are not Doom Metal. Korn is Nu-metal, and Rage used to be a politically aware sort of rap metal.

Katatonia is an example of proper Doom Metal.

    Default metal tuning

What would you guys say are the best heads for most types of metal?(black, death,Nu,heavy),evans or remo? how deep do you guys like to tune them? i used to use remo pinstripes (hate them)and are trying to get an opinion on either switching brands or buying a different type of head from remo.

The guy from HATE ETERNAL is Derek Roddy, freakin crazy!!!! He's on drummerworld.com,youtube,and has his own site. the YouTube solos are the best for his death metal style. He gets up to 350 bpm's or something on Double bass. I can get 250 clean strokes on double bass myself, pretty fast .

toms have better bounce to them with heads tuned high, you can still get yer low fat sound from tuning the resonant head low and using studio rings... try it out
