    Default Power Tools? M-BOX?

I terms of quality and price would POWER TOOLS and an M-BOX be a good option, I've been shopping around and thats whats being recommended, just thought I'd get your take on it.

I like the idea of POWER TOOLS and the M-BOX,
it turns your analog mic file into .wav format, and then using POWER TOOLS you can edit and convert into .mp3
    Thoughts? Suggestions?Please?

    What are you considering recording?

Secondly, would converting to .mp3 be solely to save space?

Thirdly, most good audio suites (Adobe Audition comes to mind) will allow you to record in a lossless format (such as .wav, or .flac) and allow you to save a copy in a compressed (lossy) format, such as .mp3.

I wanted to convert from analog to .mp3, to save space
That was my plan anyway. The M-Box was to record me and my band for a demo, we call our selves the MUSAICS and have been playing for quite some time together, we're sort of a fusion-ish style, Thought we'd start recording for a demo, is the M-Box a good option? Suggestions?

Don't compress your recording till you're actually finished mixing down. Is the M-Box a multilayer recording suite? If it isn't you should look at Adobe Audition, Live 5 or Sonar Studio (i think thats what its called). They'll allow you to record one track at a time and layer the other tracks over the top. Sonar even allows you to mix right there, before finishing.

Make sure you check out your options before you start recording.
