Don't buy cheap hardware. Just don't.
It's much better in the long run to shell out the extra cash and buy some good quality stands. You'll notice the difference between good stands and cheap stands, I'll guarantee it.

Yep - if you buy a cheap cymbal stand, you'll probably have to replace it pretty quickly. So a cheap cymbal stand ACTUALLY costs the same as itself PLUS the decent stand you end up getting afterwards.
good point but i am talkin good stands anyway just not to expensive
no particular price range

If you don't have a price range, how do you expect the rest of us to determine what is "cheap".
Cheap and Expensive is all relative. A billionaire might not think shelling out a couple thousand on a new dw kit is very much, but to others this might be a big investment.
As for cymbal stands, what I think would be good value for the money, might differ from your opinion because you haven't set a price range. I'd personally go with some nice Pearl or Tama hardware. Good build quality, not overly expensive, good feel.

Ya go with some low end Pearl. It's the only way to go. I love it.
But everyone is right, you just cannot go with low end hardware. I've done it, and it just doesn't work. You spend 40 bucks on a low end boom stand. And you need to fork over another 75 for a good one a couple of months later.
Might as well forked over the 75 earlier and not wasted an additional 40.
Low end Pearl is the way to go.

I dunno my drummer bought top quality cymbal stands and they keep on slipping and falling over...and he does take care of them....
then somethings up
if he bought them in a package maybe they were all faulty, or he isn't tightening them enough.
What brand did he get, and what series?

man I am telling you the $59.95 PDP(by DW)stands at musiciansfriends are AWESOME, I own three of them and are every bit as stout and durable as anything else out there, and they come with memory locks, I seriously recommend these stands to anyone, check them out.

I am telling you man, they are awesome, I have used Yamaha, Tama and pearl, HATE pearl, tama is alright, yamaha was every bit as good as these, but alot more money, I just don't think you will find a better stand for the money.
cool thanks for the heads up
