Good post drummer

I've noticed a trend in Drum Chat lately. Some of you like to answer questions from other drummers when you haven't a clue what you're talking about. The amateurs can't always tell the difference but it is blatantly obvious to the professional drummers in here.
Please do not succumb to the urge of answering a post just to make yourself look good or I'm going to start calling you out. If we are to keep the integrity of drumchat intact, we need everyone to post factual information based off of experience. If you're unsure about an answer to a question, do not guess at it. Let someone with more experience answer the question. If you have an opinion about something but not sure whether or not it's factual, state it that way. Simply say, "I'm not 100% sure but I think... " or something along those lines.
Thanks

Thank you drummer!
Yeah, to be honest yohin, that's how I feel too. It makes me hesitant to comment from my own experiences, which are as valid as anyone's even though my resume' and my depth of knowledge may not be as extensive.
Of course I am also paranoid...which wouldn't be so bad if you all weren't out to get me...
Yeah...I probably should have added a bit more to my first post.
What I meant was basically what Xsabers said. I comment off of my own experiences, which are not nearly as extensive as some of the other people on here (some have been drumming over ten times as long as me). If I'm not sure about something, I usually put something along the lines of "I'm not sure about this, but...." but I know I have a tendency to blurt things out without thinking them through first lol.

To borrow an epic quote from Abraham Lincoln:
"It is better to keep one's mouth closed and appear a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
Thanks for the reminder, drummer...
keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!

Drummer, If I am at fault I would appreciate a PM calling me out on such posts. I think I am careful to not mislead people into my own opinions.
It would be a task to go through all my posts to see if I am guilty. I would appreciate it thank you! F/T
Sorry guys, my post was not meant to make everyone paranoid and I definitely could have worded it better. It came off a little harsh. The next time, I will PM the guilty parties personally to address the matter rather than post to the whole forum and make everyone paranoid. Please resume posting as normal.
I knew it...you ARE out to get me....
Hmmm, I haven't received a PM yet tho... (clever strategy...making me think your not after me by NOT sending a PM...obviously a diabolical plot... )
blurting things out is for the shoutbox.. i think you should be careful about what you say in the forum section as the advice there is held to a higher regard. im hesitant to post at times because i don't think it's really appropriate for me to run on just for the sake of participation; but when i feel i can add something helpful which i think must be said about the topic i will join in at that time. and im probably never going to learn capitalization or punctuation in my posts. it would just take up bandwidth anyways!

The shoutbox should not be used to diseminate bad info either and you (Russ) are one of the worst culprits. I'll prolly get banned but I don't come on much anymore anyways due to the topic at hand.

Lets not start pointing fingers and calling people out.........thats drummers job.
Everyone is entitlled to their own opinion but we need to keep it respectful and family oriented no matter how we feel so lets not get our undies all bunched up over anything.
So......who wants to talk drums????

I agree that fingers should not be pointed in public. There's an old saying that I believe in and try to adhere to; "Compliment in Public, Criticize in Private". If anyone has concerns, please address them through PM to me. This also helps keep to keep Drum Chat a positive place.
Yesssss I like this place because it is so positive. Let's not badmouth others and turn this place into YouTube pl lol.

Damn, i dont know why but i feel pointed out here... not sure though.
I don't think it was directed at you at all.
I think the issue is forcing people to work through misinformation presented as expert advice, rather than just plain old advice to take with a grain of salt.
