Having some different voices to incoporate into my acoustic kit has opened some different tunes to cover.
New birds eye view with my edrums added below my roto toms
Back in the '80s I bought a Tama TechStar 5305 edrum kit to follow the trend of the pop music back then but I never had the PA and support gear needed to play these drums at a gig.
Fast forward nearly 25 years and I finally have a PA so I decided to dust off the voice module and dug out a few drum pads and I was pleasantly surprised.
Although these are the budget" version of ekits back in the '80s, the analog setting on each drum voice and the flexiability created many different sounds but there is no way to store these voices and there is only one pre-set factory setting.
Besides those drawbacks, the TechStar 5305 still provides some unique sounds and I can use these different voices to cover some '80s tunes my band may cover in the future.

Awesome. Would love to hear that if you can record at gig/practice.
I have an old Synare 3 (photo below)...
Very 80s--space pod-like.
"I consider every drummer that ever played before me an influence, in every way." (Buddy Rich)
"How do you keep 90 people together with one stick? I've got two sticks and i can't keep 5 people together." (Ian Paice)
Wow..I haven't seen one of those in years! Very cool! By all means yes, as soon as I can updgrade my soundcard in my computer I'll host some clips. Thanks for sharing the pic. It brought back fond memories of the '80s, an era which I still love as far as the music is concerned.
