An older man was sitting in his living room sobbing. His wife entered the room and asked what was wrong.
He said "You know tomorrow is our 50th anniversary. Do you remember what we were doing 50 years ago today?"
His wife said "Yes, we were out having fun in the hay barn."
He asked her what happened then. She said her father caught them in the hay. Then he asked if she remembered what her father said.
She replied "If you don't marry my daughter I'll see to it you spend the next 50 years in jail."
Then she asked "So why are you crying?"
He said "Tomorrow I'd be a free man!"
Congrats Charly on the 38!!!
Great joke!!!
Thanks everyone.
For those who wonder how this can happen in this day and age. I married a Saint! Or, I married up, whichever way works best for you.
We have been through me being gone in the military, me having a drug issue in the 80s and losing a house. We have passed through those times, and now have a nicer house, and we faithfully attend church.
Our parents were both divorced, and we were committed to make it work no matter what. It is the no matter what that gets hazy for some folks.
My wife lost her job 2 years ago , and her business is finally starting to take off now. We are very fortunate to still have our house, but are going through the mtg deal that a lot are to avoid foreclosure. We could not afford our house without more income or rewriting the mtg.
So...... I hope I helped to spread the news that long marriages can still survive in this day and age.
