Default Yamaha DTXpressIII with IV Pads

I had this wonderful box waitng for me at my front door when I came home from work yesterday.

I have barely begun to scratch the surface on the features of the module but looking forward to learning.

    First impressions will follow soon.

Oh my gosh....... What fun I had. Still learning the many drum sets and how each toms can be easily changed for parameters such as dynamic focus (high, mid, low/floor). By changing each tom with specfic focus points, layers of resonance can be created to build a three dimensional feeling in sound. I have yet had a chance to visit each specific function surrounding each piece of the equation on the DTXpressIII module with nearly eight hours of playing time today.

I feel so glad to have made this purchase. The breakthrough for my doledrums are the songs minus the drums tracks. I haven't had this rush of excitment since I was in a stage band back in the '80s. Yes, some of the songs are pretty cheezy but there are some jazz, funk and soul songs really brought a smile to my face.

Some of the rock songs are pretty bad. The fun part was hearing horns. Although they are the keyboard versions of horns, the sound of them blasting out of the PA was just too cool. With just the right balance between drums and the accompliment, it sounds as if you were jamming with Quincy Jones and his orchestra.

Pads I bought were used from MF at a #3 rating which is the lowest rating before products are deemed unreturnable under any factory warranty. I'm still granted the same 45 day return policy as items that are purchased new.

Here are the cost of putting this used e kit together:

    Pads $543.99 USd
    w/$19.99 special shipping fee.
    Used DTXpressIII module: $175 USd
Also included with the used DTXpressIII module: $100 USd worth of drumdial triggers that I picked up for an added $25 USd

Hey DaSoul! The pads feel like hitting tubeless bycycle tires. Lots of rebound on double stroke rolls, flams and flam taps. The strokes tend to come flying back really fast.

The HH and snare are a 3 on a scale of 1-5 for responsiveness and feel.

Thanks scorch whammin! 6 stands, throne and some thin rubber pads really make setting up a breeze. I'm just playing out of 2 15" PR15 Peavey speakers with a 600 watt amp. It's really amazing to hear any ekit out of some decent speakers and some decnet wattage. Hearing the entire mix together and sounding like a studio recording is what blows me away! Thanks for the kind words.
