Well.. My 5-piece Pearl Fusion kit. But... I don't really play 'Fusion'.. or whatever you play on a 'fusion kit'.. So, it needs new heads. I've examined many different heads. And I've read many reviews... But I'm just not so sure which ones to get. Any recommendations?

When I got my kit I replaced the stock heads with some clear G2's and am happy with the sound. I am going to try the coated ones next.

Clear 2 ply heads over clear 1 ply heads.

Depends on what music you play, what sound you want.

This comes up alot and it realy depends how you want it to sound. I think you'll get more people here going with the Remo clear Emporer over clear Ambassador combo, which is the equivalent product as the Evans G2 clear over G1 clear for an open "musical" tone.

If you want less sustain of the sound after you hit the drum, then the remo pinstripe or Evans ec2 woulld be the recommendation.

Aquarian heads are good too, but I dont know enough about them to give you an idea.

I completed a swap out of stock heads yesterday. Went with clear G2s over G1s. Sounding great. May want to try coated down the road.

id reccomnd 2 ply, unless you play jazz, for Remo the pinestripes or emperors would be good, for Evans, the G2s or EC2s would be good, i have heard that Evans head sound better, but its all personal preference, for a bass drum head, Evans EMAD 2s or Aqurian super kick IIs would be good heads, theres also a remo PS3 i woodnt really reccomend it though, for snare, theres the remo ambassador, which is what most remo users use for a snare head, but if your a hard hitter, id reccomend the emperor X, for Evans snare heads, theres the genera HD

Larry, do EC2s have the same effect on sets that aren't fusion kits?
