The road goes on forever and the party never ends, Johnny Cash is a friend of mine. www.myspace.com/braxtonbisceglia
The Learn drums DVD is basic and good for beginners. Also any of the "Turn It Up" play along stuff is great. They're on CD but they're really well done and great to learn off of. My students love them.
Thanks guys!
Steve Smith's DVD is also very informal, John Blackwell, Snare drum secrets, these are all super dvds, and I highly recommend them all.
Creative Control. I enjoyed it, very helpful. Chalked full of information, zero transfat and a whole lot of fun!

Creative Control is in no way for beginners, it is hardly for intermediate players, lets not overwhelm her or any other beginners with Thomas Lang chops, he is absolutely incredible, but far to advanced for ANY beginners, just my thought.
Thanks ddrumbum, I am already a bit overwhelmed so I think I'll save Creative Control for a later date.......
Thanks anyway PF, for the recommendation.
All right sorry about that. Ignore my comment earlier, completely agree with ddrumbum. But I know of a website you might find helpful...
www.webthumper.com
It contains a goodly amount of begginner lessons, intermediate and a few advanced, as well as drum transcriptions (not tabs) with varying skill level, the skill level is rated by the users so it should be pretty accurately assesment.

Yea that is a great website.
Great, thank you.... Another valuable web site! THANKS MUCH!
There was none of this stuff around when I started out. We didn't have DVDs we had concerts.
Serve The Song, Not The Ego - NEP
The DVDs and the internet have been priceless......... Although I do love concerts the best! Caught a drum stick at a concert and have one of Slashes guitar picks! Yay me! LOL
Concerts are priceless, I went and saw TOOL, and let me just say, Danny Carey is AWESOME, the whole band was so tight and just totally in the pocket the whole time, FLAWLESS.
Also saw Neil Peart live, stood about 5 feet away from his Kit, massive amount of drool was flowing, and then they came out, opened up with tom sawyer and just blew everybody away, how amazing, and Neils solo live is absolutely MIND BLOWING.
You can really learn a lot at a concert, I actually got to be a drumtech for big daddy weave and Mark shults(both very big christian bands)when they came to town, it was so fun setting up there drums, miking them all up and then I got to do the sound check for them, I got to talk with jeff from big daddy for like two hours, we watched drum videos and talked drums, it was unforgettable, anyway yea concerts are awesome.
Very cool! I love Mark Shultz, absolutely love Neil Peart............ I've only been up close for a couple of concerts, Velvet Revolver, Live, Disturbed, Queensryche... All great concerts.
www.drumtips.com (i think is quite a good site.)
Great, thanks vinny!
Cool, Live would be cool to see, and queensryche are from my town, I am a seattle boy.
Live was great, saw them three times, #4 in June but were taking our kids this time (first concert for them)....... I live in Sayreville, NJ, Bon Jovi's hometown (he's not a favorite of mine)....... Have you always lived in Seattle? I use to live in AK, close to Seattle but never been there.........
