So I always see the topic of favorite drummers but never favorite drum beat. Just wondering, of all the songs you've heard in your life, what is your favorite drum beat? What's the one song that, when you hear the drum part, you say to yourself "this is why I play the drums!"
For me, I can't get enough of "The Collector" by Nine Inch Nails. I always attempt this song when behind my kit (still not good enough to nail it 100%) and I get so into it that by the end I'm just beating the Hell out of my drums and cymbals. LOL! I also find that whenever I am tapping on everything around me (you know, the old annoying drummer habit) it typically turns into some variation of this beat.
For those of you that have never heard it:

I'm really interested to hear from everyone else. Include audio/video in your post if possible. Maybe we'll get a nice little collection of cool drum beats all in one thread.
I know its not a complicated one, but I've always loved this groove.

Man, I don't know...probably something by 311.

Too many to list, but off the top of my head...
Sweetest Taboo by Sade ranks pretty high.
Subdivisions by Rush
March of the Pigs by NIN
Cult of Personality (live versions) and In Another Life by Living Colour
Two Step by DMB
Geesh, there are so many rock, country, en what not. Then the personal touches, sips, slurs, accents, fills, that make them really fun...
But in the beginning there was, in a gadda da vida, yes there was...

i really like "the collector" beat but even more i like "only" which is track 8 on the same album [WITH TEETH].
Maybe not my all time favorite, but this is a beat that really took me away from my comfort zone. Although it's simple now, I always got a feeling from this song that's like no other. Love it love it love it.

Hoo boy.
- The verse to Breaking Benjamin's "So Cold"
- The bass pedal onslaught in Behemoth's "Ov Fire and the Void"
- The beginning to Trivium's "Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr"
- All of Machine Head's "Davidian"
Just for starters.
+1 for that! In addition to my earlier post, then, have had the beats in Soldier of Love (Sade) in my mind for a while. Yes, in jeopardy of overplay, but like the way she mixed the edrums and acoustic drums. See vid re same:

One of my all time favorite drum beats that always makes me crank the volume up and salivate is Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." The beat that Steve Smith laid down on that track is what made it a hit. In my younger days though, it would have definately been Zep's "When the Levee Breaks".
MAPEX - Orion Classic Series / Transparent Diamond Blue
ROLAND - TD-8, PD-9's, PD-7's
GIBRALTAR - Rack system
IRON COBRA - Double pedals
ZILDJIAN - Custom Z's, Custom A's
EVANS - Hydraulic heads
El Cheapo - sticks
first ones that come to mind are the Intro/chorus beat on Vietnow by Rage against the machine:
