    Default New set up

Got bored a couple days ago and this is hands down my favorite new set up. Being left handed, playing a right handed setup, and playing open. I decided to move my 14" floor tom over in between my hi hat and 12" mounted tom. I lead with my left so I have a whole new series of fills now and am able to keep my old ones. And yes, high to low or vice-versa rolls are still manageable.

Very nice NNN! How does it feel having the hi-hat so far over to the left?

Wow, what a way to advance your learing, being able to create new and keep the old rolls, fills and beats. Sound clips would rock.

Does your knee ever hit the tom on the left?

Not as of yet. I play towards the bottom of the pedal. It took me about 45 to get it exactly how I like it but so far, so good

Also Russ, in that 2nd pic it appears as the tom is over the left pedal but its not. Kinda of like an optical illusion.

I like and playing open handed means that hi-hat can be over that far. I really like having a FT on each side.

Seems interesting, but that hi-hat pedal is way out there. I couldn't get comfortable with that setup. Would be cool to see it in action, though. You should upload a video.

Gonna shoot one tomorrow hopefully. Also I don't close my hats that often so it doesn't bother me

A friend of mine plays left-handed open as well. He has the second FT to the left of the hihat which seems more convenient to me. But what do I know? I am right-handed.

    Rock on!
