Does anybody use one and if so what kind?
I am looking for one that works well to practice with and also play live with. I know there are some out there that are loud enough to use with out headphones. One is made by Yamaha. I would also need it to mount to a stand close to my kit.

Fell in love with the Dr. Beat years ago (Boss). Have spent thousands of hours with it over the years. Still have my original analog from 1985. I love that thing!

Unfortunately, I'm not up on the latest models. Can't help you there Dave.

I use a Matrix MR-500. It has a flashing light on it so I don't have to worry about being able to hear it. Velcro strip on the back and stick it right onto a cymbal stand!
