Thread: recording setup help

    Default recording setup help

    i buy last couple week mixer and mic

    i try sunday (7 hour) to see what i can do , no sound at all

    i forgot a afl switch (yamaha book dosen't help much)

    1- how is your setting on a mixer for recording (low,mid.hight for 10 tom etc...) gain

    2-how do you tune your drum in studio (lower then live or higher )

    any tip is welcome

    Riouel, participation has been down the last few days. I'm sure the Memorial Day holiday had something to do with that. I can't really help you with studio stuff, so I am just waiting for someone with the answers to come along too.

    Riouel- Check to see if the input button is on each channel is selected for the right input on the back of the mixer. See the instructions I highlighted in the red box.

    Make sure the -20db cut switch is in the "Up" position. This switch is used if the input source is too "hot" or too loud and will give you more head room on the channel. Use this if mixing drums and the levels are too high to control. This gives you some "pad" to adust loud levels. If this is left on for vocal channels, the level might be too low. Leave this in the "up' or off position for vocals

    Very important:
    Make sure the MUTE switch is OFF on each channel. Mute switch will kill any audio input that is select for that particular channel.
