Welcome to Drum Chat blowngt!
I should be OK, especially since you are thinking short term, but it won't give you accurate sound because the amp was made to amplify the range of guitar tones.
I just purchased a Roland TD-12 and was wondering if I could use a guitar amp that my buddy has just for now.
It's a Randall RX20D
If not, what's a good, inexpensive option that sounds good and isn't going to break the bank!!
Thanks........

Don't use that thing. It's going to sound horrible. You aren't going to get the low end that you need for the bass drum and probably not even the toms. The Simmons DA50 is a decent drum monitor and is only about $200. If you can't afford that just yet (I know that TD12 is friggin' expensive) then just stick with headphones for the time being.

keyboard and drum amps have a much wider range of tones. DLDante suggested the da 50 for $200 .. and I know you said you need to not break the bank but in my opinion the da 200 gives soo soo much more for that extra $100. I also have to agree until you can get an amp designed for drums stick to headphones. I tried both a guitar and a bass amp( both at low levels dont want to kill speakers) and they both sounded awful.

+1 on the DA 200, best value for the money. Had the DA50, and sounded great.
