Topdog, love the Spaun acrylic with the huge vents. Is that a particularly dry snare with the vents? Or just loud?

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!
Thanks Johnny. I really like it, it is loud and I used it in a smaller venue (like really small, a church that was just a little bigger than my 2 car garage) and was worried about the volume, my buddy who is a drummer said that from out front it did sound pretty warm and blended really well. I was playing with multirods as well. I just got it a couple months ago and haven't done much except tune it and put some puresounds on it and I put LED's in it just for fun. Plus if you put a mic in one of the vents it really sounds great in the house.
That lights up great!

yeah I know... luckily my main kits are floating snare baskets off the rack so I can adjust them all the way to the ground if need be.
I'd love to play every single one of the snares in this thread.

On my way home I saw a GC right off the exit on the interstate... so I swung by... didn't want to leave with a snare but I got $50 off so I couldn't resist. I will post pics shortly. But it's a Pork Pie Patina Brass 13x7. I fell in love with the color.
Nice. One of my favorites.

About two years ago I saw this drum on YouTube in a beautiful blue/green/aquamarine finish. When I went to GC to see if it was in stock, they had it, but the colors were much more muted. I got in touch with Bill at Pork Pie, and he was kind enough to make a drum to my specifications. That's good business! Love the drum. Lots of pop.
Nice. I "almost" had a Taylor Hawkins signature snare for 80 on flea-bay but I was outbid in the last second. I hate it when that happens.

That pork pie is pretty sweet Spaz! I'll bet it's a ripper too. I love my brass DW
Updated pic of my snare collection. The PDP SX with wood hoops is gone. But I added the Pearl Firecracker and the OCDP 14x5.5 vented 15 ply. The OCDP is so loud sensitive and loud. I put a Genera Dry over Hazy 300 with 20 strand pure sounds. The tone is amazing and aside from being loud, tuned fairly low, it's really sensitive.
I might try to refinish my old Olympic by Premier snare. I don't think it's worth much so I'm not concerned with devaluation of it

Do it!! Nothing like bringing something back to life. That orange snare I have is an old vintage Lyra. It's Luan with grain running the wrong way, wrap is peeling and the plies are seperating in spots but it has the most unique sound.
Looking good TopDog!
That orange county sparkly one looks interesting. what's with the hole?
