I know there are a couple of peeps here from Brum!

I went to the drum centre when I bought my new kit, what a fabulous store! great service, and the products are fantastic! I don't like the location of it much though.

Birmingham Drum Centre is in a ruff area! But yeah the service is awesome there, top notch! I had my Mapex M Birch from their and had a few cymbals too. They through in some cases for the kit too, quite decent ones at that!!

Yeah, it is kinda freaky going round there! Yeah, really great, they threw in a ZBT 18 crash and stand for me! I guess its only a ZBT, but still! I love it! Sweet free cases! :D great store, I often visit the Bull Ring too!

I should be popping down for a new 18" crash in the next few days, cant decided between a ZXT medium-thin crash, or the DH stagg exo med-thin crash, both sound soo niice for cheap cymbals. They both match, but like there both totally different if you understand? Stagg is more of a fast crash but the ZXT rings out more, cant decided :/ baah!

Hey lionheart, we play alternative rock, SFA, Led Zep, Zappa, Ian Dury, are all influences along with a funk or reggae feel sometimes.

I am also wanting to start some sort of reggae project as that is my main influence with regards to drumming.

    How about yourself?

I'm from Manchester so not too far away from Brum land but I have never been to the drum centre, the best one we got round these parts (that I have actually been to) is Manchester drum centre in Eccles, great products, knowledgeable staff - good times.

I am determined to get to Manchester drum center soon, it looks fantastic! Really want a new place to shop the closest to me (apart from Lincoln DC) is Nottingham drum centre, nice shop with freindly staff, but just a bit too small :(

What's the size of Manchester Drum Center JSB?

Its actually not all that big, compared to other music stores in the centre of Manchester, I was expecting the actually shop floor space to be larger but they have some great stuff like the huge racks of drum heads, and plenty of bass pedals out on the floor. They have a good cymbal room, all types of sticks (with practice pads at the tills so you can test them) and they had about 10 kits set up when I went, not to mention all the cases and e-kits etc - so yeah all in all it is a great store, I just wish I could get there more often myself.

A while since I last visited this thread. Time for a bump.

Here is my band, Bilton Grange, playing our second gig at Scruffy Murphy's in the City Centre (used to be called The Pen & Wig for us oldies) on Friday 30th September.

Damaru - The drum of Shiva.
