Hope so i get the same thing,
felt a strange pop in my wrist the other day also
I have been practicing my ride speed and notice when I to around 260bm my forearm burns. Not like BADLY but like a workout. Is this normal to feel it in the hand/wrist/forearm area?
Hope so i get the same thing,
felt a strange pop in my wrist the other day also
The burning sensation is lactic acid build up in the muscle tissue. The key to avoiding such discomfort is to hydrate with water as much as possible BEFORE extensive drumming sessions. Keep drinking plenty of water while you go through your practice session. Focus on relaxing your arms and your wrists and hands will follow suit. As soon as you feel yourself tensing up....stop relax and proceed again with relaxation in mind.
I am sorry..... I saw burning sensation, and I had to look.....
You guys are so cool. hahaha.
Jeez, I read the thread title and my first thought was "penicillin, dude."
yes its normal but when it happens don't tense the arm , just 'ignore' it and it will go away eventually
this applies for anything similar
Well it's good to take regular breaks, drink lots of water, and before practice, stretch. When you have a burning sensation (is there also tightness that goes along with it?), take a break, wave your arms around, get blood flowing properly. Be careful about too much practice with little to no breaks because you don't wanna develop OOS/RSI (whatever you wanna call it).
I get burning sensations in my shins when I practice double kick so when it's almost unbearable I take a break and walk around for a bit.

Drinking water is a good and a bad answer depending. Lots of water and you won't sweat as much but you will be peeing alot and this could ruin your gig or session or you can wear a DEPEND
Me too, saw burning sensation and thought...hemoroids???

BE COUNTED!
I've been stretching and drinking more water and it isn't as prevalent at all. If I tense up I lay off the ride.
It just means you're building muscle, its a good thing haha

if its an aching pain the that's fine if it isn't , still just keep playing and ignore it and then your muscles and tendons, etc will develop and you'll be able to play that without your arms hurting,
and also your brain needs to adapt from telling your left hand not to hit the drum (for example.)
you cant expect somebody who has the latter to start playing 180 bum for ages because he needs to practice his speed so the aching goes away, if it doesn't go away then HEY SLOW DOWN :P.

Like everyone is saying its just your muscles building up, just make sure you dont grip your stick too hard because sometimes when you grip your stick too hard that buring sensation occurs, and thats not good for your wrists.
