PHWOAR!
I picked up this snare yesterday. Couldn't resist! It's a Pearl Limited Edition Mahogany 14" x 9".
First shot is from Pearl's Image Vault:
This one's mine:
I immediately put a Vintage A head on it. I tuned it to medium-high/high tension and it sounds fantastic. Now I just need to buy a shorter snare stand .
Full review to follow purchase of new stand.

Wow! Bet that snare sounds absolutely monstrous. And that lacquer finish is so shiny I can see you with your camera.

Man, and I thought that my 14/7 was deep. You've got two inches on me now. Enjoy your new toy. This isn't helping my desire to go snare shopping at all.
Mmm... Saturns.
That's a fine looking snare right there.

14x9? Maybe you don't need a stand... just sit it right on the floor.
Enough pics... I want sound clips!

LOL. Well, my current Yamaha Stand went almost (~2 inches shy...TWSS) low enough. Thing cuts with the rim shots for sure, but surprisingly has enough sensitivity to hear the ghost notes well. When playing softly it blends in nicely to the rest of my kit. I'm supposed to have rehearsal on thursday, so i'll try to capture some sound bytes. And I'll update pics of the set with the new snare.
oh and it does exist, but not for long.....limited edition and all.
that's almost too pretty to hit. almost.
beautiful drum , im sure it sounds great

Hey, just out of curiosity, what kind of Yamaha Snare Stand do you have? I modified mine to be about two inches shorter than normal. The only cost was not being able to fold up the bottom part anymore.
So, if it helps you out, I'll post how I did it with pictures and everything. I wasn't going to tell you about it 'cause I thought it was a waste of time, but then you said you had a snare stand just like mine.

its an old SS940 4 prong stand. i have it as low as it goes. I was going to get a Pearl S1000D super low snare stand but they were on backorder. I can manage until they come back in
Whoa!! That's majestic looking!
