    Absolutely!!! Playing without shoes has greatly increased my kick speedand I have more volume control with my bass drum!

    can you do double strokes well with shoes on or is it better without?i havnt been allowed to try yet as i have a new carpet in my room and a blatantly ocd mum...

    its alot more comfortable and easyer to move in just socks or barefeet i think

    i play 95% of the time in bare feet .depends on the stage ,if i`m gonna get splinters off and old knackered stage i`ll wear a thin soled pair of trainers .puma ones actually .

    i hate drumming in bare feet...
    thats cuz my sets in the garage and its always cold in there so the bass/hi-hat pedals are always FREEZING
    i wear flip flops vans or 1 of my 14 pairs of converse.. (i like converse.. lol)

    I just use any sneakers. I hear cleats can be helpful for pedals without holes.

    Cleats? I would think that would be really bad, although I haven't tried it.

    I like to play in socks or barefoot, although my converse work pretty well.

    I have tried it all, Only socks seem to work for me. I have heard that martial arts shoes work great though. Converse seems like a good option, Never tried though. I even tried croc's no go.

    I never play with shoes on, I just can't stand it...normally socks or my trusty homer simpson slippers :D haha

    I wear plain leather mocassins (no grips or driving treads). They feel like bare feet but protect you from pedal frame and beater whiplash.

    i prefer to wear socks when im playing at home, but i get really sweaty feet so i dont like playing without shoes with the church kit...but i might have too, its just so comfortable being able to feel the pedal :D

    My Puma's or boots. I take off my shoes only if they get in the way because I'm always cold. My Puma sneakers are my favorite.
