I don't usually notice a big difference. Believe it or not, sometimes I get better after taking a break for a day or two.

RIP Frank "Fiacovaz" Iacovazzi
I took 12 years off, and other than getting back my speedy riffs, the muscle memory was right there.
My skills degrade drastically if I miss too many days. Now that I've got an e-kit I make sure to put in at least a 15 minute jam every night.

Couple days doesnt bother me, but a couple weeks would for sure.

Nah, I can still drop the same clams if I take time off or not...
It all depends on how long you've been playing when you take those few days off usererror. The more experienced you are, the more ingrained things become. Of course, even the top drummers have things they work on, and even though most things are ingrained, they still practice regularly to maintain the things that are not.

I've taken time off from drumming for a couple weeks at a time. Sometimes I suck, and sometimes I'm surprised by what I'm playing lol.

if i played yesterday, i can play fine after about a 2-3 minute warmup, if its been a week it will take me a good 10 minutes to get the grove back...
I can't tell a difference.
They do seem a but louder after a few days...

"Uncontrollable urticaria drivel spurting" -a sentence spawned from the half a word story.
From my experience, a few days off helps the mind settle down. I'm more creative when I get back on the saddle...
Having said that, when I'm in the middle of learning new techniques and trying to establish some degree of muscle memory, then I try to get back on task everyday...otherwise, I lose ground. But, people are different. You have to find whats good for you. Good luck !

This has been attributed to a lot of people, but it was probably Jascha Heifetz who said it first:-
"If I don't practice one day, I know it; two days, the critics know it; three days, the public knows it."
I know that, if nothing else, I have more confidence when I have practised and warmed up properly that day. I know I will be least as good as yesterday, and possibly a bit better.

After week long vacations without my drums, I get back and play everything that came to mind. I get so excited to play again that, like others apparently, I actually feel like I've improved. Wouldn't go twelve years, though...
