Get rid of cumbersome mic stands and get yourself either claws or drum mic attachments that fit right onto the drum. This not only makes breakdown go a lot faster but your sound guy will thank you. Don't forget to label each one with a number (ex: Tom 1). This way you don't have to change the settings next time.

Ever heard of the Grombal? I don't think drummers truly get this unique drummer accessory. Although they're being promoted as "protecting your cymbals", the convenience factor can't be underestimated. When I tried these out, I was simply amazed at how much time it saved me in setting up. With the Grombals on your cymbals, you don't have to jack with the felt washers anymore. Because the Grombals stay on the cymbals the whole time, all you do is stick the cymbal on the stand, throw the wingnut on and you're done!
