I owned one of these kits, and can tell you the only quiet thing is the bass drum. The Tom's and snare sound great. They are very compact. Great for small spaces, but still an ecoustic drum set. All the drums sound good except the bass drum is weak sounding. Depending on how hard you hit, it might be the right kit for you. Personally, I would look into an electric kit, only because these drums were meant to be compact, not quiet.
If yer looking for quiet ,,,look into an ekit ,,,if yer looking for compact,,,these might serve the purpose (& there is a an ekit option (it aint roland tho )....myself,,,spend da $$$ buy a roland for apt practice...
