To record any microphone with a computer, you need:
~Computer: preferrably with at least 2gig ram, 2ghz processor, and dual core(disc drives also come into play, so read up on system requirements). Pick up asio sound drivers(free download), and a compatible operating system driver for the DAW software. Osx works well for MAC programs, and XP works well for PC programs.
~Interface of some kind, in your position i'd get a usb interface(usb 2.0, not 1.1). I actually just picked one up myself- a phonic firefly 808 universal. Can connect to pretty much anything, and it was a great deal at 300(on sale from it's usual 500 price tag)
~Microphones and appropriate cords for the interface
~Recording software(also called DAW) so you can record and edit your sound
You can plug a mic into the line or usb input(if it's a usb mic) on your computer, but there will be some latency. The usb/line in's are a type of interface, but not the best.
