    Exclamation Noob Drum Trigger

I am totally new to electronic drums. I want to set up a single pad on my acoustic set. When i hit, i want it to play through a speaker/amp.
I also want to be able to change the sound that it produces. Like add my own sounds. Sort of like a midi except in drum pad form.

How would i do this? and what parts would i need? Please be specific, budget is pretty low

i used to use 2 pads on my set , used them mostly for effects ,cowbell, hand claps ,stuff like that, i have a yamaha . the pads were through the pa system along with the rest of the miced drums . as for the midi ,i never messed with that .

what you will need to pull that off is, a drum machine "a brain" pads ,cords to connect the pads to the brain, and a cord to connect to the amp,or pa system , and a way to hear the music and what your playing. headphones or a monitor, or put your amp behind you. its all pretty simple . good luck to you .
